Lucy Bamford-Leggett
Lucy is a fully accredited BABCP Psychotherapist with extensive experience working in private practice and in the NHS with individuals who have suffered various emotional health disorders including Obsessive Compulsive disorder (OCD), Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Health Anxiety, Social Phobia, and depression.Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Lucy first trained at post Graduate level in 2009 studying CBT and Recovery in Psychosis and Complex Mental Health, going on to specialise in treating adults experiencing their first episode of Psychosis.
In 2011 Lucy furthered her CBT training and skills gaining a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT for Anxiety and Depression. Lucy gained vast experience of treating people suffering with anxiety, depression, and trauma in the community.
Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Lucy is trained both within the NHS and at Post Graduate level in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), a type of cognitive behavioural therapy. DBT can be helpful if you struggle with difficulty in managing your emotions or if you are exhibiting self-destructive behaviours, such as eating disorders and substance use disorders. DBT can help you overcome this by helping you understand and accept your difficult feelings; learn skills to manage them and make positive changes in life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Lucy is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) by the leading EMDR Europe Academy. EMDR is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that is the result of trauma.
EMDR is also effective in treating other mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, phobias, and panic disorder.
