Tara White Jones

I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist who has worked clinically for a number of years in various clinical settings across the lifespan, particularly with adults and adolescents.

My areas of special interest and experience include the full spectrum of anxiety disorders, depression and Post Traumatic Stress disorder. In addition to this, I have also trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Couples therapist, specialising in interpersonal difficulties related to depression.

Alongside private practice, I currently work as a Specialist Psychological Therapist in the NHS with adults experiencing PTSD and complex needs. I also have a specialist interest in providing supervision and training, and currently work as a Clinical Supervisor and guest lecturer at the University of Reading, Charlie Waller Institute. I therefore remain abreast of current research and evidence based treatments.

I work predominantly using Cognitive Behavioural therapy, however, I also draw on other approaches, such as compassionate-focused approaches, in order to meet individual needs. I adopt an empathic, non-judgemental and collaborative approach, believing that effective therapy is not only guided by the evidence base, but by an individual's unique needs, goals and strengths. My aim is to create a shared understanding of your difficulties, to understand blocks and strengths towards building resilience and cultivating new skills in order to bring about effective change.
